Thirty three words put O second and V third, and only a handful of letters ever follow the V.
Just four letters appear there across thirty three words, and E alone takes twenty six of them. That is one of the most constrained boxes anywhere on this site.
COVER, COVES, COVET, LOVED, LOVER, LOVES, MOVED, MOVER, MOVES, ROVER and ROVES all run OVE and then split. The letter after it is where the work sits.
That leaves the first box doing more than usual. C opens seven of the thirty three and L opens five, but ten letters appear there, so it is genuinely open.
It takes I in the fourth box rather than E, which only a few entries do. It is also among the commonest words on the page, so it is worth testing early rather than assuming the OVE shape.
N, R and S each close six of the thirty three, with D on five. Those endings carry nearly everything.
So an OV word is usually a short stem plus one of a small set of endings. Identify the ending and the first letter and you are done.
MOVIE tests the I, which the OVE branch almost never uses. COVER sits squarely inside the busiest shape and rules out less.
A small pit in the retina where vision is sharpest. It is anatomy vocabulary and one of the few entries not built on OVE.
A conspiracy or fraudulent agreement, a term from older law. COVEN sits one letter away and means a gathering of witches.
Zero of the thirty three do, so every box holds a different letter right across the group.
