This tool searches 147,608 Spanish words, organised by length from five to ten letters and by the letter each one starts with.
Words are grouped two ways. Six pages cover exact lengths from five to ten letters, and twenty seven cover each starting letter including Ñ.
The largest starting letter is A with 23,992 entries. The smallest is W with six, because that letter only appears in borrowed words.
Spanish learners building vocabulary, players of Scrabble and Apalabrados, crossword solvers working with a fixed letter count, and anyone curious about how the language distributes its sounds.
One pattern runs through every length page. The share of words ending in S climbs from nineteen percent at five letters to forty eight percent at ten.
That is Spanish grammar showing through the data. Longer entries are usually a familiar root carrying a plural or a tense rather than a longer word in their own right.
If you are learning, the five and six letter pages hold the highest share of everyday vocabulary. If you are playing a word game, pick the length your grid needs.
147,608 entries across the six length pages, which are the same words regrouped on the twenty seven starting letter pages.
No. It covers words of five to ten letters, so shorter and longer ones are outside its range, and no word list of this kind is exhaustive.
Names of people and places were removed, so the lists hold ordinary vocabulary rather than place names or personal names.
