Thirty six words put F first and E third, and ten of them repeat a letter. Two consonant openings carry most of the page.
R takes the second box in twelve of the thirty six and L takes eleven. That is twenty three between them, with I on five and E on three behind.
J appears once, in FJELD, which is worth remembering because almost no five letter word puts a J there.
FRESH, FREAK, FREED and FREES come from one side. FLESH, FLEET, FLEAS and FLECK come from the other. The two branches rhyme with each other constantly, so a guess in one tells you very little about the other.
FIELD runs F, I, E, L, D, so the E sits third even though the word reads as an IE pair. FIEND and FIERY do the same thing, and all three are easy to overlook for that reason.
S closes ten of the thirty six, twenty eight percent, and D follows on five. E leads the fourth box on seven words, which is where most of the repeats come from.
They differ in a single box and both are common, so as a pair they waste a turn. Take one and spend the other on FIELD, which tests a different branch entirely.
A high barren plateau. It is the only word here with J in the second box, so guessing it either wins outright or clears one entry.
The EE shapes account for most of it. FEEDS, FEELS, FLEES, FREED and FREES all put a second E straight after the third box.
