Only three words put V first and P third, and all of them are ordinary English.
VAPID joins them and that is the entire page. A takes the second box in two of the three and I takes the other, so a single confirmed letter there halves the list.
V is an uncommon opening letter and a P in the third box needs a vowel in front of it. Only VA and VI support that at five letters, which is why three words is the whole pattern.
Each entry takes a different fourth letter and R closes two of them. So the fourth box settles the page outright every time, and nothing here repeats a letter.

The five letter form on this list is VAPOR. The longer spelling does not fit the pattern.
In the last two boxes. VAPID means dull or flat and VAPOR is the airborne form of a liquid, so they share nothing but the opening.
It is the most common of the three, though all three turn up in ordinary writing. The second box separates it from the other two immediately.
