43 five letter words begin with AT, and a fifth of them take O as the third letter.
O leads at about twenty one percent and a second T at sixteen. A, E and M each take nine, then I at seven.
ATLAS, ATOMS, ATTIC and ATOLL are the entries in ordinary use, with ATONE, ATRIA and ATTAR behind them.
Several other entries are abbreviations or technical forms rather than vocabulary, so the playable list is short.
That gap matters here more than on most pages, because 43 words already gives you very little room.
ATTIC and ATTAR both put a second T straight after the first, which is sixteen percent of the group and the second largest shape.
A repeated T therefore settles a good deal here, and it is the one test on this page that a single guess can decide outright.
ATLAS is the sensible opener. It covers a common shape and its L and S are two of the busiest letters in the last two boxes.
ATOMS. Its M and S test two separate positions while ATOLL repeats its L, which costs a box.
It shares ATO with ATOMS and ATOLL, so confirming that O leaves a small set rather than a single word.
AT is a complete word on its own, so English rarely builds longer roots on it. What survives is mostly borrowed or technical.
